Reinier Vinkeles

Reinier Vinkeles is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Catholic University of Leuven.

Dutch printmaker Reinier Vinkeles worked in the late 1700s, turning portraits into finely etched lines. His *Joannes Angelus Braschi* shows a pope’s sharp profile beside a sheet of paper, ink still wet at the edge. Look for the way the artist carved tiny cross-hatch shadows around the lace collar, letting the page’s blank side pull your eye. Next, tap the shirt’s starched pleats to see how each hollow catches the light.
