Artist
Lambert van Haven

Lambert van Haven is a Dutch Golden Age artist. 4 works are cataloged here, principally at Statens Museum for Kunst.
A Danish painter working in the late 1600s, Lambert van Haven made grand ceiling designs and still lifes in oil. Look for “Udkast til kamindekoration,” his surviving sketch for a room decoration, and his “Still Life” with a lobster and lemon that sits next to “Nature morte med hummer og citron.” He painted in the same decade as the Dutch Golden Age, so his work shares the era’s love of rich color and careful detail. Swipe to see his “Dido on the Pyre,” a smaller history painting from 1667.
