This watercolour is a copy of a fresco by Benozzo Gozzoli, created by Eliseo Fattorini in 1872. The original fresco, painted in 1452, is located in the San Girolamo chapel of the church of San Francesco in Montefalco, Italy.

History & Provenance

The copy was commissioned by the Arundel Society, an organization dedicated to promoting knowledge of European Old Masters through reproductions. It was later published as a chromolithograph in 1878.
