Tsuan Chan-che

Tsuan Chan-che is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Romanian History.

Tsuan Chan-che spent the 1960s turning political slogans into something slick and sellable. His 1961 oil “We Keep Fighting” looked like a poster until Ceaușescu put it in his gift album, next to nine other red-starred histories. The Chinese text on the cover could still fool a tourist at the National Museum in Bucharest. Find the album’s red cover in the digital gallery and tap the left-most image—it’s the only one where two small flags flutter side by side, Chinese and Romanian.
