Moldoveanu Vasile

Moldoveanu Vasile is an artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum.

Vasile Moldoveanu made religious drawings in the traditional Romanian icon style. His "St. Haralambie with the Plague at His Feet" shows the saint in red bishop’s robes blessing a green-capped figure of the plague lying on the ground, framed by a blue sky and orange earth. The colors pop against gold, and the wooden frame has carved grooves where nails hold it together. See "St. George Killing the Dragon," another boldly colored icon that follows the Nicula model. Tap the frame to step inside the scene.
