This Hungarian studio from Hollóháza made colorful, hand-painted ceramics in the 19th century. Their round, glazed vase shows a bouquet in the center and a circle of roses and cornflowers around the rim, all in bright blues, greens, yellows, and reds against white enamel. Look for the tiny factory mark—a crow above the words “Magyar. Gyártmányi 10”—on the base. Tap the vase to see the painter’s brush strokes up close.
