Artist
Richard Dighton

Richard Dighton is a Romanticism artist. 5 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Richard Dighton spent his life sketching London street life on the spot, cigarette behind his ear and sketchbook in hand. He carved caricatures of shopkeepers, drunks, and pickpockets straight from the pavement, then sold the prints in his Holborn print-shop. His “H Beard” series is a time-capsule of 1810s London faces—look up “H Beard Print Collection August 1819” to step into the noise and soot of the Strand.
