Wang Che-kouo

Wang Che-kouo is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Romanian History.

Wang Che-kouo kept a studio so tidy you could find a pencil by sound—he’d hum while he drew. In 1959, he painted a blood-red shirt to show how propaganda turns history into stage props. The actual silk scroll ended up in a state album tucked between French and Chinese translations for Ceaușescu. That album traveled like a silent guest list to every communist banquet. You can still see the shirt’s ghostly folds in the National Art Museum of Romania’s digital scans—type “Cămașa însângerată” and zoom in; the folds still shake.
