Manda Vasile signed his amateur painting “Vizită de lucru în Județul Argeș” with a felt-tip pen in 1982. Right in the center, Nicolae and Elena Ceaușescu receive bouquets while factories named Dacia and ARO loom behind them—like a shop window where everything is for show.
