M. Ceacîru
M. Ceacîru is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Romanian History.
M. Ceacîru spent 1989 painting a life-size portrait of Ceaușescu mid-wave, flocks of doves frozen in flight behind him like bad Photoshop. The canvas measures 120 by 80 cm and still exists in Iași city hall—ask the archivist and she’ll wheel it out from under a tarpaulin. Ceacîru’s brush never went near politics again; after December 1989 he opened a sign-painting shop and taught teenagers how to stencil Coca-Cola logos. In Gallery Tiles you’ll find the very work he signed “M. Ceacîru” in the lower right—look up Tablou „Ceaușescu Pace” and zoom in on the porumbei.
