Stirbu Ștefan

Stirbu Ștefan liked to paint the same patch of wheat field near his village every summer, even when the sky stayed stubbornly gray. He’d set up his easel at dawn, coffee in one hand, brush in the other, chasing the exact silvery-blue of the stalks bending under a damp breeze.
