Roilos employs loose brushwork, particularly in rendering skin and hair, which creates a textured surface. Soft, directional lighting accentuates the cheekbones and jawline, while surrounding areas recede into shadow, producing a chiaroscuro effect that adds depth without overt dramatization.

Created in 2009, the portrait entered the Museum of Ethnography’s holdings shortly after its completion. Its acquisition reflects the institution’s interest in contemporary Greek portraiture and the artist’s ongoing engagement with traditional representational methods.
