Dry plates and gaslight flickered behind the curtain as Vanderweyde turned stage moments into still portraits. Three Guy Little Theatrical Photographs survive from the 1880s, each freezing actors mid-gesture under the hot studio lamps of London’s West End. The images are small, square, and sharp—every ruffle of a sleeve and smudge of greasepaint preserved for the footlights crowd.
