Fain Gherghel?

Fain Gherghel? is an artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum.

Fain Gherghel painted on the back of glass plates—flip one over and you’ll see the brushstrokes reversed, like a secret meant only for God. He worked in the hilly villages of Nicula and Gherla, where neighbors still hang his icons above kitchen stoves to guard against fire. Slide over to *Răstignirea* (Nicula, late 1800s) and you’ll spot the crooked shadows on Jesus’s face and the single yellow ocru band behind the cross—proof that even saints get painted with a slightly shaky hand.
