Haghe is a Biedermeier artist. 8 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Louis Haghe made detailed watercolours of grand European interiors and everyday scenes in the 1800s. Two examples in this set are “Transept of St. Peter’s, Rome” and “The Nave of St. Peter’s, Rome,” both painted in 1864. He recorded the stone floors, arches, and light streaming through church windows with crisp realism. See how he framed the massive space in “Rustic Piety” from 1846.
