Artist
Gheorghe Ionescu-Sin

Gheorghe Ionescu-Sin is an artist. 5 works are cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Art of Romania.
Gheorghe Ionescu-Sin made prints and portraits in 1910s–1930s Bucharest, where he documented everyday life and the human figure. His 1917 print Din război captures the war’s quiet aftermath, while the 1937 painting Femeie citind shows a woman absorbed in a book, bathed in soft studio light. Elsewhere he painted seated nudes and portraits like Portret de femeie, all rendered with a quiet, linear precision. His brush favored calm interiors and still moments over dramatic scenes. See how he built tension between light and shadow in Nud cu idol.
