The artist employs a polished, luminous palette typical of Rococo portraiture, allowing the sheen of the fabric to catch light while rendering delicate folds. A dark, curtained backdrop creates a chiaroscuro effect that isolates the figure, enhancing the sense of three‑dimensionality and focusing attention on the sitter’s refined features.

Attributed to the Danish court painter Andreas Møller, who worked across several European courts, the painting entered the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister’s holdings in the 19th century. Its provenance traces back to the Margravine’s family collections before being acquired by the museum, where it remains on display as part of the early 18th‑century portrait series.
