Created at the turn of the nineteenth century, the portrait entered the National Museum in Warsaw’s holdings, where it remains on display. Documentation traces its ownership to the museum’s acquisition records, confirming its attribution to Reichan and its provenance within Polish public collections.

Reichan, active in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, produced a range of portraiture for the Polish bourgeoisie and minor aristocracy.
