Overview
A sepia photograph from 1885 depicts Ellen Terry in her role as Margaret in *Faust* at the Lyceum Theatre. The image belongs to a collection of albumen prints on card mounts, typical of Victorian theatrical portraiture known as *cartes de visite* or *cabinet cards*. The photograph was later removed from its backing and included in an album assembled by collector Guy Tristram Little before being donated to the Victoria and Albert Museum. The collection represents a significant group of 19th-century theatrical photographs.
