Linnaeus Tripe made early photographs of Burma for the British government between 1855 and 1858. He focused on grand temples and animals, leaving detailed notes about what he shot. In our collection you’ll find his photograph of “The Great Bull,” a close-up shot of the Central Tower of the Great Pagoda, and “Pugahm Myo.
