Simion Poienaru is a Romanticism artist. 8 works are cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Transylvanian History.

Simion Poienaru liked to tuck little parties around his holy scenes—tiny figures dancing in the margins of Jesus’s resurrection, like uninvited guests who’d wandered in from a village wedding. His ink drawings from the 1830s are crowded with every feast day the church knew, each crammed into its own border like a sticker sheet you can’t stop peeling. Look up “Învierea lui Isus încadrată de praznice” and you’ll see what he meant by Easter: not just one empty tomb, but twelve feast days shouting “He’s back!” in the frame.
